Dr. Gayatri D. Sakhrani, D.M.D., C.A.G.S.

Dr. Gayatri Sakhrani came to the United States over 10 years ago to pursue a career in the field of dentistry. She received her training from the prestigious Boston University, Goldman School of Dental Medicine and continued to pursue a residency program that provided her advanced training in cosmetic and implant dentistry.

After completing her education in Boston, Dr. Sakhrani moved to the Bay Area to join her husband. She practiced as an Associate Dentist with Dr. Nathan Kaufman and Dr. Joel Borskin in the North Berkeley area for 5 years, before taking over Dr. Randy Mitchell’s practice in Fremont in 2006. 

Dr. Sakhrani or Gayatri as most of her patients call her is very passionate about dentistry and takes utmost care of her patients, making herself available 7 days a week to address emergencies. She takes the time to listen to her patient’s concerns and address their needs in the most caring and professional manner. She understands that dentistry may not always be pleasant hence she always goes the extra mile to spend time and be as gentle as possible so that her patients always leave with a positive experience.

One of the goals Dr. Sakhrani sets for her patients is that teeth are meant to last for a life time. To accomplish this goal she ensures that her practice puts a lot of focus on preventive dentistry. She makes every effort to educate her patients about the importance of oral health and provides personalized oral care regiments to her patients. Since not all mouths are the same, she develops customized oral health improvement programs for her patients.

Dr. Sakhrani resides in Fremont with her husband and two daughters. She is very excited about the opportunity to build a trusting relationship with you, your family and the community for the years to come and looks forward to serving your dental needs. She always wanted to make a difference to the world in her own little way. A career in dentistry has allowed her to do exactly that.

Dr. Katja Greenberg, DDS, MS

Dr. Katja Greenberg is our periodontist, taking care of our patients with periodontal disease, gum recession, as well as patients in need of dental implants. She is a Board Certified Diplomate of the American Board of Periodontology and has been practicing for over 10 years. She completed her specialty training and masters in Oral Biology at UCSF, Department of Periodontology. During that time she received the student Research Award granted by the California Society of Periodontists. Her research was published in the Journal of Periodontology and she gives continuing education courses on dental implants and management of periodontal disease.

Dr. Greenberg received her dental training and doctorate degree from the “Freie” University Berlin and the Charite Hospital Berlin.

Whenever possible, Dr. Greenberg likes to explore new neighborhoods and try new activities with her husband and two young children and she rides horses competitively.

Dr. John Wayland

Dr. Wayland is a 1981 graduate of UCSF School of Dentistry and is a former faculty member and instructor at UCSF and UCLA School of Dentistry.

Dr. Wayland is a California Dental Board On Site Sedation Evaluator, California Sedation Permit #163, ACLS Certified, former Doctors Hospital Staff, Alumnus of LD Pankey Institute, Las Vegas Institute. He is a Fellow in the Academy of General Dentistry and Master in the American Dental Implant Association.

The Academy of General Dentistry Fellowship is a distinction held by less than 1% of all dentists in the United States. The award requires 500 hours of course study, a comprehensive written exam, and a minimum of five years to complete.

American Dental Implant Association mastership certification requires 250 hours of course study, written examination and oral examination. Dr. Wayland’s first implant was placed in 1985.

In 1999 Dr. Wayland limited his practice to early third molar removal and dental implants. Over the past 28 years Dr. Wayland has removed more than 10,000 impacted third molars, placed hundreds of implants and completed over 2000 IV Sedation procedures.

Jodi A. Hoey, Registered Dental Hygienist

Upon receiving her Bachelor of Science degree in Dental Hygiene from the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF), School of Dentistry, Jodi was awarded the California Society of Periodontists Award of Merit in recognition of the contributions made in the prevention of periodontal disease, and for having shown the greatest interest, knowledge and proficiency in periodontics during her work at UCSF. Jodi was also awarded membership in the Sigma Phi Alpha National Dental Hygiene Honor Society for scholarship, service, leadership, and potential for professional growth.

With experience practicing dental hygiene in periodontics, orthodontics, and general dental practice, Jodi feels very positive about the preventative and cosmetic aspects of dentistry. She believes that achieving and maintaining a healthy, beautiful smile is attainable by most everyone. Jodi’s objective is to guide each patient through the various customized options available for improving and maintaining teeth in a healthy condition. She is adept in merging patients personal desires with treatment requirements.

Jodi has been on the staff of this dental practice since 1992, and she values most the lasting friendships formed with so many patients. She truly appreciates the loyalty, trust and continual confidence her patients have in her.
